My First Garden...EVER

Since we are living in Steve's mission presidents house and actually have a space for a garden, I decided to plant one this year for the very first time. We have always had a garden in Colorado...well my dad has always had gardens. They are his babies and Derek and I never really went in them because they were huge. I mean HUGE!!

My dad brought up 6 tomatoes in starter pots and 2 pepper plants.

I finally put the plants in the ground and started my seeds. I planted corn, lettuce, carrots, zucchini, watermelon, and pumpkins. After my dad dropped off the tomato and pepper plants, I put them in the back of the house and FORGOT TO WATER THEM FOR OVER A WEEK! That is why they look so sad :( in this picture. I thought that I had killed them before I even got to plant them. 

The seeds actually started to grow. 

They are getting bigger and bigger and bigger...

Oopsy daisy! Not watering them for that week in the very beginning might have done the  pepper plants in. 
My garden as of right now! I probably should have planted my corn and tomatoes further apart...they are kind of taking over each other. I hope that doesn't cause any problems as they continue to get bigger.

Happy 60th Birthday!

Today is this lovely woman's birthday.

She would be 60 years old today. 

A very happy birthday to the Mother, who made you all who you are today! I am so grateful for the influence she had in your lives.

I remember her soft spoken, caring ways. She was such a hard working woman who loved her children more than anything else. I loved seeing the way that she looked at all of her children from Greg all the way down to Brigham. She never had favorites, and loved them all the same. She would do anything for her children. 

We love and miss you everyday! Happy 60th birthday!

UVU Graduation! I'm Finally Done!

Graduation day has come and gone. I am finally done! 

 

This weekend was full of family and fun. I had family from Colorado and Nebraska come and celebrate, me graduating from Utah Valley University. My mom and dad come up on Wednesday night. We just had a relaxing night.

On Thursday, I took a half day from school and came home early to hang out with my family. My Aunt Pat (dads sister) flew in from Nebraska and was at our house when I got home from school. We took a quick tour of Provo and Orem. 

 Later that night was UVUs commencement. It was so good to see all my girls again. 

Friday morning was the education programs graduation day. I got to dress up in my cap and gown for a second day in a row. We had lots of fun and took lots of pictures. After graduation we ate dinner at Tucanos. Steve loves that place. It was the first time that my mom, dad, Aunt Pat, and grandma Susan had eaten there.

After dinner we all felt so FULL! We came home and just relaxed. I opened up my graduation presents from my family. Money is always a favorite! My mom, dad, and Aunt Pat know me well. My wonderful grandma Susan and grandpa Bill (Steve's grandparents) were so gracious and gave me a certificate for school supplies at a local school supply store. My third grade team gave me the best shoes EVER #crazycatlady shoes!! Steve surprised me with a bag full of beach toys, animals, and two tickets to any tropical vacation that I want to go to!! I love my family and all that they do for me.

We now need ideas as to where we should go on our vacation!! We want to go somewhere tropical! Please give us your ideas and expertise on where the best tropical vacation spot would be.

Saturday was probably the best day of them all. My family and I went up to City Creek Mall in Salt Lake City and had a full day of shopping!! Who doesn't love a full day of shopping and spending all of your money? The best way to end a perfect day full of shopping with family, is a night barbecue with family. We had a delicious dinner with lots of stories and fun!
